GUIDE TO A WORK AND STUDY VISA APPLICATION








Several people would have preferred to have their post secondary and post graduate studies abroad, but couldn't due to one reason or the other, some are schooling in their preferred school already, while some are actively working towards achieving their dreams, of continuing their studies in another country.

Decide on your preferred country and university

University


Confirm their tuition fees, if it's not readily available, create a separate account and start putting them together. Tuition fees differs from country to country and university to university.

Check the admission requirement of the university, to know the documents you need and examples of the files required.

Remember some schools, especially public schools offer free tuition fees packages/scholarship.

If it's a country that has a scholarship scheme for it's international applicants, endeavor to apply, because getting a scholarship will help in making the whole process a lot easier for you.

International Passport


Your international passport should be ready. Most people will be nursing the idea of schooling abroad without procuring their international passport first, therefore making things difficult for themselves when they eventually start up with the process.



Proof Of Funds


You're also required to show/provide a proof of funds,sponsor statement of account or block account.

The proof of funds is just to show that you will be able to take care of yourself while studying, the proof of funds differs from country to country.

In some countries, when you resume, you wont be allowed to withdraw the whole funds at once, a country like Germany will only allow you to withdraw a specified amount per month.




Insurance Cover

This is also among the requirements, you are to get a health insurance for yourself and family in the country of your choice. This can be renewed every year for a specified amount.


If you're applying for a master's or Phd degree in most countries, you're required to choose a school and also get a supervisor for yourself, finalize with your supervisor, before applying, but this is not a general rule, because some schools are actually more flexible.



Motivation Letter


A letter of motivation is an introduction letter, which will be attached to your documents. Your motivation letter should show your goals and what inspired you into choosing your program of choice.

Reasons for picking the school,
The different ways your future aligns with the course you chose.
The motivation letter will be used to assess the purpose for your application and the reasons behind the course you chose, your educational life and things you love doing.

IELTS/TEF


Most of these universities require the English Language Proficiency Test Report, while some do not. So get ready to write the IELTS exam, TEF, TOEFL, etc, depending on the country you're applying to. It's adviced to get this report ready before applying or get it during your application processing.

The IELTS will be used to test your language proficiency.

Most countries or universities can accept confirmation letters from your previews school/s showing that you've been taught and received lectures in English Language.


In some countries countries, you will be given residence permit, work permit, to enable live and work freely and take care of yourself while schooling, you will also be given the option of applying for applying for permanent resident in your host country, after living there for a number of years.


Once you're set, gather all your documents together, not forgetting your birth certificate and also get ready for the interviews. All your documents must be genuine, avoid misrepresenting yourself because it could cause your admission and you will also be banned for a couple of years.

Your CV will be used to gain more insight in your education, which documents you need exactly, your professional career and activities.
